Mr. Tides

Mr. Tides 4.3.8 problems

We found out that v4.3.8 wasn't working, and we've traced the problem down to something Apple has added to Xcode 8. Argh! We've fixed the problem by going back to Xcode 7.3.1 and recompiling the code, and have re-released 4.3.8 build 591 to address the problem. Next up is a bug report for Apple!

AyeTides Mac

In the next release we'll be renaming Mr. Tides to AyeTides Mac. This is to link our Mac app to our iOS apps, and develop a single identity for our tide apps. Watch for the change in the next release!

Mr. Tides 4.3.8

We've posted v4.3.8 to the website. We've fixed problems with saving units after you change them, fixed a crash in some of the table views, fixed problems with displaying some currents stations, and updated the database.

Mr. Tides 4.3.7 re-released

Hi! We fixed a crashing problem, one that didn't show up on any of our machines, in the latest re-release of Mr. Tides 4.3.7. The new build number is 587 and should be available via the auto-updater. We apologize for the problem and encourage you to update your version of Mr. Tides. If you can't get the updater to work, or if the app crashes before you can get the new version, then please go to our home page and click on the link to download the disk image and install the new version from there.

4.3.5 and App Transport Security

We've updated Mr. Tides to v4.3.5 to address issues with Apple's new security settings on network connections. Previous systems would allow us to connect to the server any time, but now the system blocks us as the connection is not secure. Since we don't control the server where the files are located, we had to force 10.11 to allow us to connect. The problem now is, there's no way to automatically get the new update if you're on 10.11 - the update will fail to connect with an error such as App Transport Security policy requires the use of a secure connection. You'll have to go to the web site and manually download the new update. Sorry about this, we didn't know how dramatic a change this was and how badly it would affect us.
